AMONG MARCHE, UMBRIA AND TUSCANY
"Castello della Pieve-La Torre" is a historic residence secured on a hill surrounded by greenery, in a fortified village built in stone in the 12th Century for defence. The ancient Castle has preserved its medieval plan and has a tower and small consecrated church.
The Country House faces the Alpe della Luna, in a particularly privileged position, in an area that borders on three splendid regions: the Marche, Umbria and Tuscany. It is the ideal place for visiting the neighbouring cities of art (Urbino, San Leo, Gradara, Fano, Assisi, Gubbio, Perugia, San Sepolcro, Arezzo and Anghiari….) and surrounding yourself with spectacular natural scenery (trekking paths andmountain biking in the Apennines, bathing and fishing in the clear river waters …).
The village lies in the municipal area of Mercatello sul Metauro, a town rich in carefully restored and well-preserved architectural treasures. Thanks to its outstandingly high standards of tourism and nature, the Touring Club has been awarding Mercatello the prestigious Orange Flag for years, a mark of quality for towns in the Italian hinterland.
Mercatello sul Metauro is a haven of peace, washed by the waters of the Metauro River and the S.Antonio Torrent, 429 metres above sea level. The town dates back to about twelve centuries before Christ.

How to get Here
 
By Car :
from the Adriatic side after taking the A14:
* coming from Bologna exit at Pesaro tollbooth
head for Urbino until you reach Urbania, Sant'Angelo in Vado and Mercatello.

* coming from Ancona exit at Fano tollbooth, follow the SS 73 bis head for Urbino. Before coming to Urbino, turn left to Fermignano and reach Urbania, Sant'Angelo in Vado and Mercatello.

In both cases, after 2 Km, turn right to Castello della Pieve.

from the Tyrrhenian side after taking the E45:
from Tuscany travel through Arezzo, continue for Sansepolcro in S.Giustino take the E78. After crossing the "Bocca Trabaria" pass, head for Borgo Pace, after 2 km turn left to Castello della Pieve.
from Roma (autostrada A1), exit at Orte, tollbooth, follow the E45 head for Cesena, exit at San Giustino. At S.Giustino taking the E78. After crossing the "Bocca Trabaria" pass, head for Borgo Pace, after 2 km turn left to Castello della Pieve.

By Train:
get off at Pesaro station. From the station car park take the "Autolinee Bucci" bus, Pesaro-Lamoli route. Get off at the Mercatello stop (the service only runs on weekdays).
