The MetauroRiver is the most important river in the whole region. Its bed offers extremely beautiful sights: the Sasso waterfall, in the municipality of Sant' Angelo in Vado, nearby, is well worth a visit; it is 15 metres high, 60 metres wide and is regarded by experts as one of the 10 most beautiful cliffs in Italy.

It is possible to swim in the waters of the River Metauro, which are inviting and still unspoilt: they provide an important habitat for various types of birds, fish, tadpoles, tree-frogs, dragon-flies and river shrimp…. The banks are valuable for the dense vegetation and surrounding woodlands and fields, which are coloured with an amazing range of colours in the various seasons: from bright greens in the spring and delicate greens in the summer to autumn reds that blend magically with yellow leaves and white cloaks of winter frost and snow.

In the hotter months the river becomes a valuable place for those wishing to relax and sunbathe by the peaceful banks or dive into the enchanting, natural pools. The river’s little water falls are excellent for hydro-massages. The river is an interesting place for children who can swim safely in the shallower waters and enjoy themselves on the banks playing with the clay.
